- The famous Antonio. Correction: The woman dancer is not Rosario, as indicated, but is actually Carmen Rojas. Guitarists unknown. Anyone recognize the guitarists?

El más grande, un genio del baile😘
Brilliant
The flamenco singer is "Jarrito" and the first Guitarrist is "Manuel Morao". My aunt Carmen Rojas has said to me.
You're absolutely right. I had them mixed up. Rosita was actually much older than Carmen. Thanks for the correction. No, I've never seen the film on DVD, just late night television every now and then.
UNA PAREJA INOLVIDABLE
Ole! Ole! Ole!
Great clip, despite the poor quality. It's an extract from Luna de miel (1959), directed by the great Michael Powell who also directed The Red Shoes (1948)
It's Antonio (Antonio Ruiz Soler) and Carmen Rojas as the main dancers. I don't know who the guitarists are nor the singer. The woman sitting on the bench by the door is Ludmilla Tchérina. That's Rosita Segovia who arrives at the end.
I love the old woman (mother? grandmother?) who keeps nudging Antonio to point out how good Carmen is.
@colcatta1 When Antonio dances, it's taranto. Salud!
This is Rosita Segovia. The movie is "Luna de Miel".
Great piece of dancing the movie appeared to interesting. Would love ton see Tim
The movie is Luna de Miel. One commenter said it was released in the U.S. as The Lovers of Teruel. I haven't been able to find a copy.
The Best of Spanish Dance ever…I am looking for them in the dance they did in the film Ziegfield Girl. That was also magnificent. Any suggestions as to where I can find it. Thank you for posting them.
Florette: someone commented and said it was from the film LUNA DE MIEL (means more or less: Honeymoon). I'm not familiar with that film.
Thanks for the info. Keep me posted.
Glad you enjoyed it...ole!

Thanks so much for the information. I appreciate seeing even the segment.
That's all I have. I don't remember what my original was, just a segment from some collection. The movie is Luna de Miel, I believe, and released in English as Honeymoon, and The Lovers of Teruel in the U.S. Don't know where you can buy it. Netflix apparently doesn't have it.
Thanks for your comment! I did a google search and found that the Rosario of Antonio and Rosario fame is actually Rosario Perez-Montoya. Antonio's dance partner in that film clip actually is Carmen Rojas, according to Wikipedia. Rosita Segovia did appear in that film, but was not the dancer in that scene (according to Wikipedia). Very interesting. Do you know where to get a copy of that complete film, on DVD or VHS?
This looks like it was early in their career, and since I know for a fact it was Antonio, I didn't want to state it was Rosario without being absolutely sure. Thanks for your input!
I have a VHS copy of Luna de Miel, so I know it is out there somewhere.
The best. Carmen Rojas la mejor.
It's never been released commercially for home viewing :(
I'm still trying to get the rights holders to release it.
There was a cut down version shown on British TV some years ago and some tapes of that might survive. But they cut down the ballets so it's left very unbalanced and looks like a travelogue.
But the full thing has been restored and shown at a few festivals. I saw it as San Sebastian 2002 - with Rosita Segovia. Lovely lady, no longer with us.
Maybe it's on VHS? I'm doing some searches to see if I can come up with anything. It's not on Netflix for sure. Durn!
LA BAILARINA ES CARMEN ROJAS, Y PERTENECE A LA PELICULA LUNA DE MIEL, 1958.
+Carmen Carceles : Si es. Gracias!
One guitarist looks like Nino Ricardo Jr. (passed away young).
This is wonderful. Is there a clearer print released commercially? Would love to see/ buy it.
That is indeed so, Steve. I've been searching and googling for at least a VHS copy of Luna de Miel, but no success. Any ideas?
The woman dancer is Carmen Rojas and was a part of the film Luna de Miel.
corrects the title of this video please
+Javier Cárceles Moreno- Correction made. Thanks, Javier! I changed the title to ANTONIO and ROSARIO- correction: ANTONIO AND CARMEN ROJAS so as to alert earlier viewers of the change. Saludos!
Probably Rosario? They danced together for 50 years and now this is somehow an unknown Betty?
LA BAILARINA ES CARMEN ROJAS, Y PERTENECE A LA PELICULA LUNA DE MIEL.
Most likely, but I'm not 100% sure.
ESPLENDIDOS
Antonio magnifico aunqie muy amanerado
No me gusta que le ponga el pañuelo al cuello a la muchacha. Me parece de riesgo, por el tipo de movimientos del baile.
