I needed somewhere appropriate to share this: I ordered a Klein bottle from Cliff today. His website gave the option to leave him a note, so I did. The usual "Thanks for the videos and being awesome." Not really thinking anymore of it aside from "He'll probably read it and be happy about it"
End of the evening: I randomly check my mail. Twó, handwritten E-mails from Cliff. One filled with jokes and thanks for my order. The second has about a dózen photos of my Klein bottle. Klein bottle on his scales, Klein bottle in his hand. Klein bottle posing with broadly smiling Cliff in his garden. Which I now know several species of his wife's plants, as he decided to mention their names. With "Fibonacci hiding in them".
He even went through the trouble of translating "fragile, contains empty glass bottle" into Dutch and writing it on the box. Not printed. Handwritten. And several cartoons of wineglasses with broken stems XD
Cliff, you are a madman XD It's so touching, that one of my favorite Numberphile guests, put all that time and effort into my simple online order.

@@MrSpeedyAce I got the same thing todáy! I'm still buzzing from reading his full page, personal letter and seeing the photos of Cliff posing in his garden with my bottle. The dude translated "fragile, contains empty glass bottle" into Dutch and wrote it on the box by hand...
And I haven't even gotten my bottle yet. Which he sprayed with ethanol to "inebriate any Covid viruses".
